- I'm 37 years old and recently started my 1st - hopefully last Donor Egg IVF cycle. I’ve always dreamed of being a mom & having a houseful of children. So when my gynecologist gave me the gut wrenching news that I was in menopause at the age of 30, I was devastated. At that moment, I was completely broken. Adoption or IVF with donor egg (DE), those were my options. I was losing control of my life; again – 1st Hodgkin’s now this. Hadn’t I been through enough crap! After a few weeks of processing my diagnosis, I went back to see the gynecologist. I was confused & not sure how I felt about having children via egg donation. Then my doctor asked me a very important question: “What does motherhood mean to you”? Once you can answer that truthfully, you will know what the right fertility plan is for you”. She was right! For me, it was clear. With love in my heart, a nurturing spirit & fierce determination, I would be a mom-one day. Now, at 37 I’m completely in love with an amazing man. We feel lucky & blessed to have found each other. With lots of hope, faith, love and positive thinking; we hope to achieve pregnancy & meet our baby soon.
